Not sure what type of phones you have? Below are some common traits of phones and phone systems.
You most likely have a PBX or KEY Phone system if: (go to PBX system type option)
- You have 5 or more incoming lines.
- You need to dial "9" to get an outside line.
- You have a big computer box in a phone room that controls the functions of your phones.
- You purchased your phone system from a phone vendor who came out to install the system.
- You have a voice mail system or automated attendant.

You most likely have conventional single or multi-line phones if: (go to ordinary phone option)
- You have 4 or fewer incoming phone lines.
- You have buttons for "line 1" and/or "line 2" that you must push to gain access to a dial tone.
- You have an answering and/or fax machine plugged into one of your voice lines.
- Your phones were purchased at an office superstore or electronics retailer.
- You do not have a "Phone Equipment" room.
